This weekend brought again summer temperatures the approx. 200 inline skaters for an optimal inline day. The event was just as well “organized” as the weather – thanks to 21 years of experience in organizing the Linthmarathon by the local Inline Club Juka-Linthline.
After the terrible weather on Friday for the Certina Inline Race in Biel, the skaters at the Lake Sempach were rewarded again; dry and sunny weather with a few cumulus clouds accompanied the more than 600 participants around the Lake Sempach. The approximately 200 Masters, who held their European Marathon Championships on this course, also benefited from this. 21 nations participated in the European Championship. On 9 September 2018 the Masters World Championships will take place in St. Moritz at the Engadin Inline Marathon.
For the 15th time the traditional Certina Inline Race took place before the 100 km race in Biel and already for the 4th time Peter Michael (NZL) could win this half marathon. This year for the first time under very challenging weather conditions, with which also the other 200 skaters had to fight.
