One of the most beautiful skate routes, best asphalt around Lake Sempach; pure skating pleasure.

A large village with an attractive supporting program offers entertainment for young and old on the Rollsporttag am Sempachersee. 

The world’s best wheelchair, handcycle and skate athletes will be competing on this fast and scenic course.

In addition to the top athletes, the amateur and recreational skaters also have the opportunity to enjoy this route.

The 2018 European Masters (Marathon) will be held within the Sempachersee Inline Marathon in Schenkon, Switzerland. The actual Sports Rules of the CERS/CEC are applied

Eligibility

In the Masters marathon, all skaters born in 1988 and older are allowed to start. Participants have to submit a valid national license of their National Federation.

Ranking/Master categories

The age classification is done according to the CEC rules:

  • U40 – 30 to 39 years old
  • (only skaters not participating as seniors at the 2018 European Championship)
  • U50 – 40 to 49 years old
  • U60 – 50 to 59 years old
  • U70 – 60 to 69 years old
  • O70 – 70 years and older

The registration can only be done online – www.swiss-skate-tour.ch/sempachersee Please note, that each athlete must provide a license-number for the registration.

Participation Fee

European Masters (Marathon)

  • until April 10th, 2018 CHF 60.00 (incl. chip-rent)
  • until June 3th, 2018 CHF 70.00 (incl. chip-rent)

 

Absolute deadline is June 3th, 2018. Late registration on site is not possible. The participation fee has to be paid by providing credit-card or paypal.

Note:

Bank processing fees are payable by the participant.The application is effective only upon receipt of the registration fee.

Timekeeping

Time is measured exclusively with the RaceResult Active chip. Chips must be returned after finish line in S-chanf. Not returned chips will be billed with CHF 70 to the athlete.

 Race Course

The course starts and ends in Schenkon. There two rounds around the Lake of Sempach. It is recommended to inspect the route before the race.

Delivery of the Starting Numbers

The delivery of the starting material/race package takes place at the village Schenkon on Sunday, June 10th from 12:00 to 15:00.

Please arrive early to avoid bottlenecks.

When there is no timely fetching of the starting material/race package there will be no right to participation or reimbursement of the registration fee.

Changing rooms and showers

There are changing rooms and showers near the village.

Medical care

The entire route as well as the start and finish area will be monitored by medical services and doctors. All deployed medical forces are entitled to take you out of the race for your own safety if indications of injuries and/or signs of overexertion are shown.

Supply/Provision of drinks/food

The handover of drinks and meals to skaters is difficult during the race. Please take your own water bottle and energy bars with you (if necessary).

Important Notes

Sporty and fair conduct of the participants is assumed.

Only use the marked route/track – leaving the route/track results in disqualification.

The race number must be worn on the right thigh, changes on the number also result in disqualification.

Skaters, who cross the finish line again after having finished the race will not be ranked.

During all the race, the skaters have to wear a helmet.

Please note that the route is not closed for the traffic before and after the race. Please warm up on skates only at the permitted times (plan and times will follow later)

The protest fee is € 150. In case of a refusal of the protest by the chief referee the amount shall be forfeited to the CEC.

Traffic

The roads along the course are closed for traffic from 09.00 Uhr until 18.00  Uhr. Before and after the road blocking are passings possible.

Parking

Please use the public parking spaces according the plan. Illegally parked cars will be towed away at the owner’s cost!

Food/Drinks/Refreshment points

For safety reasons there are no refreshment stands along the route. In the skate village there are official catering stalls.

Warm Up

Please warm up on skates only at the permitted times (plan and times will follow later). 

Start Number / Timekeeping Chip

You have to wear the start number on your left thigh. The timekeeping chip must be fixed on your ankle and returned immediately near the clothing return at the end of the race.

Non returned chips will be invoiced with 70 CHF.

Safety

  • Adjust your speed on your skate ability!
  • Skate on the right!
  • Faster skaters overtake on the left side!
  • No sudden brake actions or direction changes (like snakes)!

Along the whole route there are emergency service points, where you can get medical support.

Please sign in a contact person in case of emergency on the reverse side of your start number.

via the motorway (direction Lucerne), at the Rotsee junction follow the signs for Basel/Bern/Emmen-Nord, at the Sursee exit take the signs for Beromünster, at the second roundabout take the first exit (Zellfeld)

By car from Basel:

via the motorway (direction Lucerne), take the exit Sursee towards Beromünster, at the second roundabout take the first exit (Zellfeld) with public transport

Public Transportation

By train to Sursee station, then by bus to Zellfeld Restaurant. There will be an alternative stop Zellfeld roundabout. From there it is a 5 minute walk.

Sunny Inline Marathon around Lake Sempach

After the terrible weather on Friday for the Certina Inline Race in Biel, the skaters at the Lake Sempach were rewarded again; dry and sunny weather with a few cumulus clouds accompanied the more than 600 participants around the Lake Sempach.
